Yellow fever is a serious infection, spread through the bites of infected mosquitoes. It is not contagious among infected humans, & is most common in areas of high mosquito density.

Symptoms*
Symptoms of yellow fever begin around three days after being infected, & include:
- fever (body temperature of 38C & above)
- headache
- nausea
- vomiting
- muscle pain
- photosensitivity
- malaise
- loss of appetite.
In more serious cases, symptoms include:
- jaundice (the yellowing of the skin that gives the disease its name)
- bleeding from the eyes, mouth, or nose
- vomiting
- passing blood in the stool
