The work & living visas for Barbados require applicants to undergo medical assessment on arrival in the country, at a government-designated clinic. You can have some of the necessary tests in the UK in advance of this. It is advised that you do these tests privately in the UK to speed up the visa process once you arrive in Barbados.
Our FCO-registered clinic will have your results ready for you within 2 – 3 days, & can ensure that your routine vaccinations are up to date, as well as provide you with the Hepatitis A & Typhoid vaccines, which are recommended for all travelers to Barbados.

Common Questions
Are children required to have a visa medical?
Children applying for a long-term visa also require a medical examination, though the tests may differ based on age.
Can I have my regular GP perform the visa medical?
The Barbadian authorities require the medical to be conducted by an approved or licensed clinic/doctor familiar with the visa requirements. Our clinic is FCO-registered and fully certified to issue visa medical reports.
What happens if I test positive for a condition during the medical?
If a condition is detected, our doctors will advise on follow-up care and provide an accurate report. Some conditions may require additional documentation for immigration purposes.
Do I need to bring my UK NHS records?
It is recommended to bring any relevant medical or vaccination records from the NHS, as this can speed up the assessment and ensure accuracy in your report.
