The medical for the Brunei work visa is quite detailed; we will examine you in accordance with the requirements of the visa form.

We are accredited to provide the medical required for the Brunei work visa application. Various tests, examinations, and screenings are required for this medical, including past, family and medical history, a blood test for HIV, Hepatitis B, Malarial parasites, & Syphilis, a urine drugs test, and a pregnancy blood test for women. For employment-related to the food industry, a stool test for parasites is also required.

For your visa medical, we recommend booking an appointment with one of our medical professionals to ensure your visa application process goes smoothly.

You will also need to have vaccinations for Typhoid, Tetanus, & Hepatitis B, among others, as well as a chest X-ray. We can arrange all of this for you in our private FCO-registered clinics, with results available within 5 – 7 days.

Procedure

Step 1

Requirements & preparation

As visa medical tests are part of a legal process, we are required to check your identity. Please bring your passport & two passport-sized photo with you to the clinic so that we can do this. For your urine test, you are advised to hold your urine for up to 4 hours prior to your appointment.

Step 2

During the test

This medical involves a consultation with the doctor, who will ask about your past & current medical issues, take a blood sample, explain the urine sampling to you, & give you all of the required vaccinations. You will have your chest X-ray immediately afterwards, at a location a short walk away.

Step 3

Commonly Asked Questions

How do I know if I need a visa medical?

All UK citizens applying for long-term stay visas in Brunei (employment, dependent, or student visas) must complete a visa medical as part of their application process.

How do I book an appointment at Harley Street Health Centre?

Appointments can be booked directly with our clinic via phone, or our online booking portal. We recommend booking at least 2 to 3 weeks in advance to be safe.

Can I use a medical report from another clinic?

The Brunei government requires the medical examination to be conducted by an approved or recognised clinic. Our FCO-registered clinic meets all requirements for UK citizens applying for Brunei long-term visas.

Are there any vaccinations required for the visa medical?

While vaccinations are not always mandatory for the medical itself, it is recommended to ensure that you are up-to-date with routine immunisations.
