The Vibrio cholerae bacterium which causes the infection is usually found in contaminated water & food sources. It tends to spread in areas that have poor sanitation, lack of water treatment, & inadequate hygiene. It also lives in some brackish rivers & coastal waters.
If you are planning to travel to an area where cholera is common, it is recommended that you get vaccinated against cholera.
We offer travel vaccinations at our travel clinic. Contact us today.
