Whether you are experiencing anaemia symptoms & need a diagnosis or need to monitor your blood levels, we can help with fast & accurate testing & experienced doctors.

A healthy blood profile is crucial to overall health.

Our clinic’s unique full blood screening includes a test that will highlight the different indications of anaemia.

Anaemia is a condition affecting the red blood cells, in which normal levels of haemoglobin (which is responsible for transporting oxygen around the body) are disrupted.

The condition can be caused by two distinct issues: either there are fewer blood cells than normal, or the individual red blood cells are less than normal levels of haemoglobin.

Common symptoms of anaemia include:

  • tiredness
  • lethargy
  • dizziness
  • breathlessness
  • feeling faint
  • pale skin or pallor

Less common symptoms:

  • headaches
  • palpitations
  • altered sense of taste
  • tinnitus (hearing ringing in your ears)

Book a consultation with your GP if you have symptoms. A simple blood test will confirm if you are anaemic.

When should I get tested?

Your doctor may advise you to get a blood test if you are experiencing symptoms of anaemia, or you may wish to come for a test based on your own concerns.

What does the test include

For this test, you will need to give a sample of blood.

What to Expect

Step 1

Preparing for test

Please arrive well-hydrated to make testing easier.

Step 2

During the test

Your test will be relatively quick; the doctor or nurse will take a small sample of blood from your inner arm.

Step 3

Results

If your test was recommended by one of our doctors, you will receive a call from them to discuss your results as soon as they are ready. We will also email you a copy, so that you can go over them with your own doctor if preferred. You can also of course book a consultation with one of our own doctors to go over the findings.
