Private healthcare group launches pro-bono counselling and psychotherapy service in Central London
A Harley Street healthcare group has today launched a pro-bono and low-cost counselling and psychotherapy service as part of its 15-year anniversary year of projects.
The service is open to the general public and is run by doctoral-level psychotherapy trainees. Dr Enam Abood, the founder of the Harley Street Health Centre group commented:
“With mental health services at breaking point and the availability of counselling subject to limited sessions, long waiting lists and poor prognosis and outcomes, it is important for private healthcare providers to do their bit to ensure that London has access to psychotherapeutic services. The NHS has been struggling to deliver counselling and therapy services and is faced with growing demand.
We have brought in doctoral-level trainees to provide pro bono and low-cost services. They have access to experienced GPs and their own regular clinical supervision and we are confident that they will be able to deliver excellent outcomes for clients.
The Harley Street Health Centre Group continues to be committed to giving back to our local communities and this is one way we can thank London for its support over the past 15 years.”
Therapy will be available for a range of issues including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, anger and stress.
City Walk-in Clinic is the Harley Street Health Centre’s City of London Clinic. Referrals are also accepted from medical professionals. Sessions are available for all age groups.
About the service
Sessions will take place at both the Harley Street and City of London clinics depending on therapist availability. All new clients will require an initial assessment to ensure suitability. GP and medical professional referrals are welcome.
About the Harley Street Health Centre Group
The Harley Street Health Centre was established in 1998. It has clinics in Harley Street and in the City of London and provides private GP services, medical testing, health screening and a range of other services.
