We know that life can get in the way of our plans, and therefore, our cancellation policy aims to be as accommodating as possible.
GP appointments and blood tests:
There are no cancellation fees for GP appointments and blood tests. We ask that patients respect our clinicians’ time by cancelling their appointments using the cancellation button sent with our email confirmations and SMS messages. Repeated instances of not showing up without notice can result in deposit fees and cancellation fees being applied to future appointments.
Visa and employment medicals:
There are no cancellation fees for visa and employment medicals. Please give as much notice as possible of any appointment changes so other patients can access these very popular services.
Health screenings:
Our Wellperson health screenings take up 2 hours of clinical time; therefore, a deposit of £100 is required to secure your appointment. We require 24 hours’ notice of cancellation, after which the deposit will be retained. Insured patients are not required to pay a deposit, but we ask for as much notice of cancellations as possible. Our email confirmations include a cancellation link; you can also cancel/rearrange your appointment by replying to your confirmation email or by calling us.
Why cancelling your appointment is important:
Cancelling a medical appointment, rather than simply not showing up, is an important act of consideration and responsibility, both for yourself and for others. When patients do not attend scheduled appointments without notice, it disrupts the clinic’s smooth operation, wastes valuable time and resources, and limits access for other patients who may urgently need care. Most clinics allocate time, staff, and preparation for each booking, including reviewing notes, setting up equipment, or reserving rooms. A missed appointment, therefore, affects not just the doctor or nurse but the wider healthcare team.
From a personal perspective, cancelling allows you to reschedule promptly and stay on top of your health needs, avoiding delays in diagnosis or treatment. It also helps maintain a positive relationship with your healthcare provider, shows respect for their time, and allows them to offer your slot to someone else in need.
Even short-notice cancellations are preferable to a “no-show.” A quick phone call, text, or email can make a significant difference. By taking this small step, you support the efficiency of the healthcare system, help other patients access timely care, and contribute to a more respectful, patient-centred environment for everyone.
